Location provider

The Location provider setting, found under Settings → Tracking → Location provider, determines how the app acquires its location. VMFit supports two types of location providers:

Fused

Uses Google Play Services to combine GPS, Wi-Fi, and device sensor data to determine your location. This option offers low power consumption and can obtain a location fix quickly. However, it may not work reliably if your device does not have access to Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Native

Uses only the device’s built-in GPS receiver to determine location. Depending on your device and signal conditions, it may take longer to obtain the first location fix. Power consumption is slightly higher than with Fused, and accuracy depends on the number of visible satellites.

Note: The location provider cannot be changed while recording an activity.
Note: Changing the location provider requires restarting the app.
