Automatic speed correction

The Automatic speed correction setting, found under Settings → Tracking → Automatic speed correction, automatically corrects GPS speed spikes and inconsistencies in supported activities recorded by the app.

When enabled, speed correction is triggered in the background the first time you open a newly completed GPS-based activity recorded while Automatic speed correction is enabled. Once correction is complete, the activity's maximum speed and speed graph are updated, and a message confirms that the speed data has been corrected.

Automatic speed correction is not retroactive. Activities recorded before the setting was enabled are not automatically corrected, although you can still correct their speed data manually.

Automatic speed correction is enabled by default and can be disabled at any time from Settings.

You can restore the original speed data for an individual activity by tapping the Speed icon in the activity toolbar and selecting Restore Original Speed.

Note: Automatic speed correction does not apply to Other and Stair climbing activities. Speed correction can still be triggered manually for these activity types.
